UNIVERSAL GENEVE POLEROUTER 20357-1 'MICROTOR'

THE ESSENTIALS

MAKE: UNIVERSAL GENEVE
MODEL: 20357-1
YEAR: 1959
CASE DIAMETER: 34MM
CASE MATERIAL: STAINLESS STEEL
BRACELET MATERIAL: LEATHER
MOVEMENT: AUTOMATIC

Early Polerouters featured “bumper” movements (such as the cal. 138SS), which we love (partly thanks to the sheer joy it brings every time the movement bumps). In the mid-1950s, however, UG filed patent no. 329805, which described a micro-rotor movement whereby the automatic winding rotor is incorporated into the movement, rather than sitting on top. This allowed UG to manufacture some of the thinnest automatic movements of the time, including the cal. 215 found in this lovely ref. 20357-1.
