The Oysterquartz Datejust, first introduced in 1977, was Rolex’s answer to the quartz crisis, joining the efforts of other leading Swiss watchmakers of the era. This bold yet refined integrated-bracelet design stood apart from the brand’s traditional offerings, featuring an angular silhouette with sharp bevels and chamfers.
The present example, ref. 17013, dates back to the early days of the Oysterquartz Datejust in 1978 and features a two-tone steel and 18K yellow gold case, paired with a clean silver dial with gold baton markers and hands.
A lovely example of one of the most distinctive references in Rolex’s history.
