It’s no secret that vintage two-tone Rolex sports models often don’t receive the same love as their stainless steel or full precious metal siblings—though we’re not entirely sure why.

It’s also no secret that we love the GMT-Master II 16710 here at Falco—it is perhaps the most versatile five-digit Rolex ever made. With three bezel colour options and two bracelet choices, one can effectively enjoy six different looks from a single watch. While you don’t quite get that flexibility here, the reference 16713 offers a completely different aesthetic. The stainless steel and 18k yellow gold construction works wonderfully with the black dial and bezel.

Following a Rolex service in 2022, the present example has been kept in fantastic condition. The dial is perfect (the gold text is particularly beautiful when viewed closely). The case has been polished before but remains very full. There are some minor marks on the gold portions of the bracelet—something extremely common for these models.

The watch comes with its original boxes, booklets, and Rolex service papers. The movement is running perfectly at +1 s/day, with an amplitude of 295° and a beat error of 0.1 ms.

A throwback to the early 2000s, when the world was a very different place. In the early 2000s, this watch was over 50% more expensive than the 16710. Superb watch and fantastic value.
