The GMT Master 16700 brought with it several updates that came to define the “neo-vintage GMT” aesthetic: a revised case design later shared with the 16710 (whereas the 16760 used a thicker Sea-Dweller-style case), and glossy black dials with white-gold surrounds. 

The present example dates to 1997 and features a “Swiss only” dial, denoting the use of early Luminova. This piece remains in unworn condition after 29 years, with both the caseback and clasp stickers still intact. The red portion of the Pepsi insert has aged to a beautiful pink hue.
