It’s no secret that we love the little quirks within the Explorer II line-up, from the wide-font bezel of the 16550 to the creamy tritium lume that sometimes develops on early examples. That said, those rare beauties can occasionally distract us from just how good the watch is in its standard form.

In this case, however, we have something even rarer: a true time capsule. This black-dial 16570 was purchased over 25 years ago in Haverfordwest (Stefano’s hometown, incidentally), yet has never been worn.
