This Rolex Explorer ref.1016 dates to 1982 and features the final dial iteration, the MKV (although, for reasons known only to Rolex, it is in fact the MKIII dial that was last used on 1016s towards the end of production). One can easily spot a MKV dial by looking at the "E"s in "EXPLORER", whereby the middle bar is closer to the top than the bottom. 

It’s hard not to love the 1016, especially when it presents like this. The tritium lume on the dial and hands has aged to a beautiful creamy tone, contrasting perfectly against the flawless matte black dial. The case has retained much of its original thickness, having only been lightly polished before.
