The Patek Philippe 6000 series was released in the early 2000s, over seven decades and countless references after the original ref. 96. Whilst Patek never abandoned a simple, time-only Calatrava, the brand continued to explore new interpretations of its flagship model—introducing day-date complications, travel time functions, and innovative dial designs such as this.
The 6000 features an off-centre sub-seconds dial, a pointer date track, and more numerals on the dial than a GCSE maths book—yet somehow, it all works in perfect harmony and still looks incredibly classy. The model was discontinued only a few years ago (so not quite vintage…), but it carries many of the elements we love in vintage watches, particularly its beautiful proportions.
