The Grand Seiko "Very Fine Adjusted" standard from the early 1970s was a wonderful story of Japanese craftsmanship and precision. The 6186-8000G "VFA" had a factory tolerance of +/- 2 seconds per day, much stricter than the COSC / chronometer standards. An exceedingly rare and super cool creation from GS.
