The Breitling Navitimer ref. 806 here was purchased and owned by Walter “Wally” Kahn MBE (1926–2015), a German-born, record-breaking glider pilot and entrepreneur. The watch accompanied him throughout his life, including during an incredible list of aviation achievements—flying 222 km from Lasham to RAF Coningsby, 312 km from RAF Odiham to Perranporth in Cornwall, and many more.

Decades later, Wally sold the watch to a fellow member of the Lasham Gliding Society (due to failing eyesight—which, as we know, is crucial when reading a Navitimer...) Since then, it has had two further owners before coming to us. A brilliant watch, now continuing its journey in the air.
