Production of the 765 CP lasted only three years before Breitling updated the line again in 1967/68 with the larger 42.7 mm reference 7650. Despite its short run, the CP became a favourite among enthusiasts: most notably Jean-Claude Killy, who famously wore one during the 1968 Winter Olympics (not a Rolex, as is often assumed).
This example is especially rare, featuring a dial double-signed by LIP: once a prominent French watchmaker. Its rarity is matched only by its condition. The dial is pristine, with tritium lume across the markers, hands, and 3 o’clock register aged to a rich creamy hue.
Absolutely fantastic.
