Despite its 36mm case, the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak ref.14790 wears closer to 38–39mm watch thanks to the shape of its integrated lugs, whereas the Jumbo 5402 wears more like a 42mm watch. Arguably, this makes the mid-size Royal Oak better suited to most wrists than the original Jumbo.

This particular example comes from the second series of 14790ST production and features the rare “Military” dial, with bold Arabic numerals and sword hands. It is hard to imagine AP recreating such a charming design today, and this watch remains something of a unicorn within the Royal Oak line-up.
