In 1992, Audemars Piguet released the reference 14802 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the original Royal Oak reference 5402. Since 1972, the Royal Oak lineup had grown to include over 150 models in various sizes, designs, movements, and case constructions. However, the 14802 was the first model since the 5402 to feature the 39 mm “Jumbo Ultra-Thin” case.

Although conceived as a 20th anniversary model, the 14802 sold relatively slowly over the following decade, remaining in production until the Royal Oak’s 30th anniversary. During the marathon of a celebration, AP produced around 1,000 pieces in total, of which fewer than 300 were made in 18k yellow gold.

What we have here is a lovely example of the 14802BA, now spending its time among one of our favourite collections.
