The ref. 221.021 was the very first 1815 UP/DOWN, featuring an 18k yellow gold 35.9 mm case measuring just 7.9 mm thick. It’s simply beautiful: a clean railway minute track, printed numerals, blued steel hands, and an argenté dial, with the running seconds and power reserve subdials positioned in the lower half. It’s arguably even more stunning when turned over—being one of the first Langes to feature a display caseback—as you’ll see in Jake’s photos.
